Frequently Asked Questions
- What is OmahShare?
- OmahShare is a peer to peer (p2p) application.
It makes it possible for you, the user, to share files from your computer with other people
around the world. All kinds of files can be shared, including music, pictures, movies, software, and more!
- Is it like Napster used to be?
- Yes and no; yes in the sense that you can share music files (MP3's) with others.
No in the sense that you can share so much more with other people. OmahShare uses a decentralized network to connect it's users worldwide.
That means there is no central server OmahShare connects to, which is what Napster did.
- What will it cost?
- OmahShare is freeware, meaning you pay nothing to use it. It is also open source under the GNU General Public License (GPL),
so you are free to modify the source and redistribute it if you wish.
- How does OmahShare connect with others?
- OmahShare utilizes the Gnutella network, allowing your shared media to reach thousands, if not millions of people worldwide.
- When will it be available?
- OmahShare has been released! Get it here!
